These are proposed ways to describe a contribution. The current composer may use different thread types.
- Question
- Something worth understanding, with the context that makes it matter. A useful question can precede a source, method or proposed answer.
- Observation or experience
- An account of what was observed or experienced, with its origin, circumstances and limits. Interpretation can be developed alongside it.
- Candidate idea
- An untested explanation, concept, connection or design offered for exploration. State what might make it useful and what could challenge it.
- Source analysis
- An examination of which claims a source supports, how it relates to other sources and where its methods or applicability limit the conclusion.
- Method or useful artifact
- A procedure, tool, model, document or other piece of work others may inspect and adapt, with its intended use and known limits.
- Objection or research shadow
- A counterexample, doubt, contradiction or missing distinction, including what later observation or inquiry could help resolve it.
- Work proposal
- An invitation to pursue a stated purpose, identifying the people affected, responsibilities, resources and permissions a next step would need.
- Decision proposal
- A proposed adoption, action or change for a named scope, with options, reasons, objections and an account of who can decide.
- Outcome or correction
- What happened after earlier work, or what needs revision in an earlier account. Link the relevant records and explain what the result changes.
